So long August!

Is time speeding up, or is it just me?
You’ve probably been asked this question while talking to a family member or friend, or you asked it yourself.
It seems like July came and went. Now, it’s the end of August.
So much for "Hello August!" It's more like, "So long August!" We're over half-way finished with 2018.
Wow, it's crazy to think about because it seems like last New Years Eve was not too long ago. I’ve been thinking lately how this year feels as if it has gone by so quickly, faster than other years and that lead me to ask myself, “Have I️ been present in every moment” and “Making the most of every opportunity?”
These are necessary questions to stop and ask yourself, especially if you feel similar to how I️ do. It’s important to take a second and pause. We live in a world where everything is so fast-paced and we’re more times then not, on the go! When we constantly have busy schedules that can make time go by faster and if we aren't careful and enjoy moments rather than go through the motions. We blink; it seems as if life went by and we accomplished nothing.
You may say, "Well, Key I have work everyday or have set things that I need to do each day."
That very-well may be true, but you have to make sure you are putting some "me-time" in your schedule, taking time out of your work week to do something that you find enjoyable or to do nothing and re-group.
Have you been living your life in routine?
I can speak for myself and honestly say I was earlier this year. I found myself most days waking up, praying, going to work, sleeping, and doing a couple other things in between but other than that, I was pretty much pressing the REPEAT button.
There are plenty of reasons why a person may live like this such as, unhappiness with their job, not finding true joy in everyday, feeling drained, and so much more. Some of you find yourself doing that now, living life feeling as if you are repeating yourself. If you are reading this I want you to know that it's not too late to change that. This summer I did and I have felt so alive.
I have made the best of my job. Of course, there's days when things could have went better but I'm more intentional about my outlook on everyday and striving to me more “content” as referenced in 1 Timothy 6:6-12. I started working out more consistently too. On a side note, being back in the gym makes me realize how much I miss running track. I've been volunteering at church more - WOW Kidz are so great and spending a lot of time with family and friends. I've also been doing what I am doing currently, blogging, amongst other things.
I'm looking forward to a lot as well such as, seeing my younger sister this week and finding out where I will end up next in this next season.
What are you looking forward to between now and the end of the summer?
Whatever it is, be present and enjoy the moment!
