Who's in control?

As I️ sit here on my flight back to Michigan from California, I keep thinking about how there’s different seasons around the world. There are places experiencing similar seasons and other places experiencing different ones.

While traveling to and from L.A. I️ saw many sceneries from mountains, water below me, clouds to colorful skies. All of which, reminded me that “there are seasons for everything under the sun.” I️ encourage you to read ..to get more context of this verse.

We all find ourselves in different seasons. What your life looks like may be completely different than your neighbor or similar the some degree. In this season of my life, I’ve found myself struggling with the unknown because I️ like to be in control of what’s going on around me and when I’m not I️ sometimes panic. I️f I’m not careful, I️ can easily worry about different areas of my life but lately, I’ve been working on intentionally letting God guide every area of my life. Some of you reading this may be thinking, “You make it sound so easy!” It’s not..there are a lot of nights when I️ find myself getting in my own head about certain things then I️ have to remind myself the importance of “being content in the season God has me in (Philip. 4:12)” Being a passenger is not always fun. It can bring about a lack of patience, uncertainty and fear among other feelings but in the midst of all of that, it’s important to trust the pilot of the plane. God is in control of what happens on our journey. After all, He knows the directions to where we’re going anyway. He knows about all the hiccups and bumps we’ll encounter before we even come in contact with them.

I’m not saying don’t be cautious or plan but do so without worrying! Because of what Christ did on the cross ..years ago we can live freely KNOWING He already paid the price for any fears we have. John 12:7 says, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." God wants to bless us, His children. It's important to live as God wants us too ..not for what He can do for us but because of who He is. But God does reward those who obey His commands. You may want God to show you what direction you should go when deciding on your next job for example. Well, trust in Him along the way and pray about it. He will eventually lead you to where you should be and that's with ANYTHING!

As I’m about to touch the ground at Detroit Metro Airport, it’s foggy so we heard to pilots' voice telling us our “landing would take 10 minutes longer." It was for our safety. I want to tell you to trust that God will give you a safe landing.

Trust God in the season that you are in.

-K.T
